* The Frenchman’s Creek Women’s Golf Association has contributed $910,157 to these research programs from 1999-2008. Today, advances in cancer research and treatments are increasing survival rates and quality of life for those touched by cancer. To defeat cancer, our researchers at the Cancer Research Institute, a part of MD Anderson – Orlando, are turning research results into therapies or preventives, proving their effectiveness in the clinic and then educating healthcare professionals about these latest advances. Great cancer research relies heavily on philanthropic support to attract worldclass research scientists. This is where we will find our answers. This benefits the 5,000 new patients that seek care at MD Anderson – Orlando every year, in addition to cancer patients from around the world. The future ultimately rests with philanthropists, like those involved with WPFT, who understand and share our vision. * Statistics obtained from the American Cancer Society website
