Note from Dr. Mark Roh

Dear Supporters of Women Playing For T.I.M.E,

As the new incoming president and CEO of MD Anderson Cancer Center Orlando, it is my honor to be associated with a dynamic group of volunteer women who are committed to raising awareness and much needed financial support for the early detection and treatment of women’s cancers at MD Anderson – Orlando.   With the decline of government funding affecting hospitals nationwide, philanthropic dollars are essential to continue with vital community outreach programs, the purchase of state-of the-art equipment, and ongoing cancer research at MD Anderson – Orlando.  Without your support, many programs in place would have to be discontinued and for this I am eternally grateful.

With current looming statistics, such as one in eight women will become affected with breast cancer in her lifetime, WPFT cannot remain idle in their fight to eradicate breast cancer and all women’s cancers.  As Dr. Buck Brown walked along side you for the past 20 years, guiding your philanthropic funding decisions to the areas in the most need of support, I look forward to accompanying you through the next 20 years.  Together we will continue to be advocates of WPFT’s mission to partner with MD Anderson – Orlando to defeat cancer as it affects women and their families and friends and help the women in Central Florida.  I am humbly at your service.

Respectfully,

Dr. Mark S. Roh
President and CEO
