Men's Super Bowl Charity Tennis Tournament

What a better way to get the men tennis players in our community involved with WPFT than to have a Super Bowl themed Charity Tennis Tournament?

Two of our local community tennis courts have agreed to be test pilots for a unique tennis tournament that has been already tested by one of our local country clubs and proven to be a great success. The first tournament will be held at Lake Cane Tennis Center this Jan 30-31 and the second at Orlando Tennis Center on Feb 7.

For the men tennis players there is an open and club level but women are welcomed too. The general idea is men assemble 4 person teams named after NFL teams who play other NFL teams in pro sets.  Teams have an option to punt, pass and extra point kick a football in one round to score additional points added onto their tennis score.

The tournament benefits Cancer Research for M. D. Anderson Cancer Center Orlando.  Attached you will find the flyer describing the tournament and a registration form to sign up.  Food has been donated by local restaurants and water and sodas by our partnership with Pepsi.

Please contact Bill Davidson listed on the flyer and form for more details about the event and if you are planning to play in the tournament.  This could be the start of a whole new arm of Men’s Tennis For T.I.M.E.  After all, they aren’t immune to cancer, they can be a victim as easily as one of their loved ones.  Feel free to pass this on to your tennis friends if you’re not a tennis player.
