Technology

M. D. Anderson – Orlando is dedicated to providing the most advanced treatment technologies in the care of women with breast cancer. Sentinellymph node biopsy and helical tomotherapy have become new techniques for administering surgical care and radiation therapy to patients with breast cancer.

Immediate Diagnosis

The Breast Care Center at Orlando Regional Medical Center (ORMC) is a collaborative effort between M. D. Anderson – Orlando, ORMC, and the Surgical Group of Orlando. Established in 1993 as a Breast Diagnostics Center, the new Breast Care Center offers assistance five days a week to women who discover a lump or receive abnormal mammogram results. Patients are diagnosed and receive a treatment plan within 48 hours and benefit from the expertise of a multidisciplinary team to ensure the latest treatment options are available.

Mammography

M. D. Anderson – Orlando, in cooperation with the Women’s Imaging Department of Orlando Health, is dedicated to making diagnostic and interventional mammography available to those women most in need of the technology. We will diligently pursue digital mammography in a fiscal, responsible manner.

Education

Cure rates are now above 90 percent. Women educated about the importance of early detection are those whose future will most likely be cancer free. M. D. Anderson – Orlando and Women Playing For T.I.M.E. are dedicated to numerous ongoing educational efforts directed at women of all ages who may be at risk.
