More About WPFT
|
Co-founded by Elaine Lustig and Sheila Solomon in 1993, Women Playing For T.I.M.E. (WPFT) is a volunteer organization dedicated to making a positive impact on women facing cancer. Since its inception, WPFT has raised over $8.6 million through signature golf and tennis tournaments and a variety of other events throughout the year. Funds directly benefit cancer Technology, Immediate diagnosis, Mammography and Education (T.I.M.E.) at MD Anderson Cancer Center Orlando, part of Orlando Health.
Women Playing For T.I.M.E. first focused its efforts on breast cancer. However, with a prevalence of ovarian and other gynecologic cancers, the requests from patients and their families have been for us to also take a hard look at these cancers in our financial support and research.
In honor of our 20th
Anniversary, WPFT updated their logo to incorporate a teal Gerber daisy to
reflect their commitment to focus on gynecological cancers that affect the
women in our community also.
WPFT’s Steering Committee is comprised of local women who have dedicated their time, financial resources and efforts to raising awareness and much needed financial support for the early detection, prevention and ultimately a cure of cancers affecting women.
