Saks Fifth Avenue Gives Back - February
MD Anderson – Orlando is one of 5 local charities chosen as beneficiary of the Saks Fifth Avenue
“Support Your Local Charity” program. Customers who make purchases at
the Florida Mall Saks store using their Saks Fifth Avenue credit card
during the month of February, are eligible to designate MD Anderson –
Orlando as their charity of choice and 5% of their purchase will be
donated at no expense to the shopper. Happy Shopping!
March 5, 2012 - Orange Tree Golf Event - $39, 253.00
Congratulations to the Orange Tree Ladies Golf Association for hosting a very successful golf event to benefit Women Playing For T.I.M.E. and MD Anderson Cancer Center Orlando. The Orange Tree Ladies Golf Association presented WPFT and MD Anderson - Orlando with a check for $39,253. Donations continued arrive even after the event was over! Orlando Wedding Guild - March 14, 2012 - $3,000.00
Rev. Glynn Ferguson, and the members of the Orlando Wedding Guild held a surprise fundraiser in honor of a fellow colleague, Brandi Zrallack who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer at their monthly luncheon meeting on March 14th. Cash donations along with the sale of mardi gras beads at the luncheon, enabled the guild to present a check for $3000 to WPFT. Over 130 members attended the luncheon that was held at Crave Restaurant.
Pink Lacrosse Game – March 15, 2012
Olympia High School in Southwest Orlando will
host a Pink Lacrosse game against West Orange High School on March 15,
2012. The Olympia team (a.k.a. LAX BROS), have been busy holding
fundraisers since the fall to add to the proceeds from their upcoming
game which will be donated to WPFT.
Isleworth Golf Event - March 26, 2012 - $45,216.00
On March 26, WPFT raised a record-breaking amount for this spring tournament, held for the ninth year at Isleworth Country Club. The event, which increased $20,000 from the previous year, was themed “Bling It On” and, the ladies did not disappoint – many donning both pink and bling from head to toe! Thank you to our presenting sponsor Hilton Grand Vacations, title sponsor and community partner, Triad Isotopes, and committee Kalani Meffe, Shena Baez, Janet Burke, Toby Chanes, Ceme Curley, Erin Lasser, Joanna Oswalt, Laura Read and Janella Ulloa for helping make the tournament a huge success.
